I am excited to share Titus’ newborn photos, and our first photos as a family of FIVE! I still can’t believe it sometimes, even though he is 8 weeks old now. We have an amazing photographer. I have used Bree Linne Photography for all of our baby, family, and Christmas card photos, since we moved to Texas in 2015. She is the BEST, and if you’re local to Fort Worth I highly recommend her.
I also want to share my absolute must have newborn gear. These are the items that have helped me survive that first six weeks all three times. Sure, all you really need are diapers, wipes, and milk, but I have found these items to ease the transition into new mom life. I don’t know about you, but I can use allllll the extra help I can get!
Chicco KeyFit 30 Infant Car Seat: This is my favorite car seat. We have tried several different brands and styles over the course of 3 kids and 2 cars, and in my opinion this is the best! Safe, easy to install, and you can get extra bases, if you have a second car, without having to purchase a second seat.
Chicco Keyfit Caddy Stroller Frame: I love this easy and light weight click in stroller caddy. It makes life somuch easier, if you need to run into the grocery store and baby is sleeping. You can just click the seat into the frame without having to get baby out and put him in a wrap or separate stroller. The basket underneath is huge, and fits a diaper bag or grocery bags nicely!
Motorola Digital Video Baby Monitor: I love being able to check on baby with this monitor. We had an older model that lasted us a good 4 years, and then with baby number 3, we upgraded to the 2 camera model. I love it! The picture is so clear, and it gives you helpful info, such as the temperature of the room. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a video monitor.
PUJ Tub: This is my favorite infant bath tub. I’ve tried several different ones, and I love how this one can be easily popped into the sink with one hand, while you’re holding a squirmy newborn. It unfolds easily, and completely flat, to dry and prevent any mold. It’s soft and lightweight. Perfection!
Fisher-Price Rock ‘n Play Sleeper: You are going to need safe places to set baby down for a few seconds. You will eventually get tired of carrying around your baby, even though they are so snuggly, and it’s nice to have different options. We received the Rock ‘n Play sleeper as a gift before Noah was born, and we have used it for all 3 kids. Ours doesn’t rock on it’s own though, and this one does so that’s an added plus!
Boppy Newborn Lounger: Another cozy place to put baby. This must be a new thing, because I didn’t know about it the first 2 times. My sister received this one as a gift, and handed it down to me, for Titus. He loves lounging in it during the day, and the majority of pictures we took in the first month are of him on this.
Boppy Nursing Pillow: There is a reason this is such a popular registry item and shower gift. It’s an essentialand it’s perfect. Aside from it’s obvious use for support during nursing, it can also be used as a pillow to keep baby propped (while awake), a tummy time helper, or even a little place to help big brother or sister comfortably (and safely) hold baby.
Graco Pack ‘n Play: There are several different variations of the pack ‘n play. We have one like this, but there are less expensive ones that have the basics, and more expensive ones that are all decked out with pockets and gear. Ours has a few different attachments, like a mobile and diaper changing area, but the main thing I use the pack ‘n play for is to have baby sleep next to our bed. I love it because it folds up very compact and we can take it where ever we go. There are some really nice bassinets out there, but they are pricey. I like the pack ‘n play because it can be used for naps, or a little play area as baby gets bigger. I love items that grow and change with baby, because I feel like I get my money’s worth! Don’t forget the sheets!
Solly Baby Wrap: This is my favorite baby carrier. A baby carrier will save your life. It will enable you to still “get things done” while holding baby. I also like the Ergobaby Carrier, but I prefer the Solly when baby is tiny. Plus, the Solly wrap comes in gorgeous fabrics, and it’s a small business which I love to show support for!
