Over the last few months, we have been getting better about budgeting and saving. I’m always looking for creative ways to put extra cash toward student loans, groceries, or diapers! Today, I wanted to share a few apps that I use, that have actually been successful at saving our family more money.
Ibotta App– I started using Ibotta in January. It is so simple to use. There are several ways to earn extra cash using this app. The easiest way is by scanning your grocery receipts. Every week they have different offers that you can add and scan. You can also use it to shop online and get cash back (similar to EBATES, which I will talk about next). It takes a while to earn a large amount with this app because you are only getting a quarter or 50 cents here and there, but there are different bonuses you can earn to get more cash fast. The best thing about it is that it’s so simple, and I earn cash back on purchases I was going to make anyway. If you use my referral code (srsexsw), you can get a $10 welcome bonus. Sign up here!
EBATES App– I’ve heard time and again about how EBATES is a must have app. I decided to download it in January and have been using it every time I make an online purchase. It’s easy to use, and there’s even an extension that you can download to your desktop toolbar, so you’ll never forget to use it when you check out. It also finds coupons and promo codes for you. I wish I had this during Christmas, because that is when we do a TON of online ordering. I’m interested to see how much cash back I can earn this year, as our kids birthdays and Christmas roll around! Sign up with my invite link and get a $10 bonus when you shop at over 2,000 stores. Poshmark App– This app is more work than the other two, because it’s a selling app. It’s also the best for making and saving money. I have been using it since January and have earned just over $400 selling clothes, shoes, and bags that the kids have outgrown, or I didn’t want anymore. Poshmark does take a commission of your earnings, but they make the shipping process so simple by providing flat rate shipping labels to download and print right from home. I love it because I just pack it up and drop it off at the nearest mail box on our way to our daily outing or errands. Going to the post office with 3 kids is not my idea of a good time, so I love that the process is so easy.
It’s important to take nice pictures and to be active in the community by sharing other people’s listings, which is why this app is a little more time consuming than the others I mention.
You can check out my Poshmark closet here, and sign up to shop or sell here. I find some amazing deals on kids clothes, as well designer brands for myself. You can bundle items from the same seller to save on shipping, and make offers to the seller to get the best deal. I seriously love this app. Install the free app now, and use code SHANNONCAIRNS30 to get $5 off your first order. Start shopping brands at up to 70% off today!
Cardpool App– Cardpool is an app where you can buy and sell gift cards. Let’s say I’m about to buy $100 worth of goodies at Old Navy. I will head to the Cardpool app, and see if there are any gift cards for sale. Depending on supply and demand you can get the cards for a discount, usually around 10-20%. They will send you an immediate electronic gift card to use. Boom! Instant savings. I do this all the time to save a few extra dollars. They have gift cards to every store imaginable on there, as well as, restaurants, coffee shops, movies, and more. Head here to sign up with my referral link and get $5 off your first order!
Drop App– Drop is the most effortless of all of these options. It securely syncs to your debit card, and you earn points for purchases at places like Target, Walmart, Starbucks, and McDonald’s. You then redeem your points for gift cards. I don’t earn as much with this app, but it’s so easy to use that I keep it installed and cash in my points for $10 Amazon cards to use toward purchases. Sign up today and get 1000 free Drop points on me! Use my code (67c69) to start earning cash rewards now!
Give these apps a try, and head into the weekend with a little extra cash in your pocket. They are easy to use, and a fun way to stretch your budget.
