The long summer days, probably have you doing a fair amount of back porch sitting. Or maybe you’re completely avoiding the outdoors, thanks to those pesky mosquitoes! I always worry about mosquito spray and the ingredients in them, so I went on the hunt for natural ways to repel mosquitoes. Here are some fun ideas I found on Pinterest!
1. Essential Oils: There are several different essential oil scents that claim to repel mosquitoes, such as Citronella and Lavender. Here’s a kid safe DIY to make your own repellent, so you know exactly what’s in it.
2. Plants: If you have a green thumb, plants are a great way to repel mosquitoes, and keep the backyard looking summer ready! Citronella grass, lavender, rosemary, and lemongrass are just a few bug repelling plants. Here is a list of 8 plants that repel bugs and mosquitoes.
3. DIY Luminary: These floating candle mason jars are an adorable DIY, that can also be used as a fun backyard centerpiece. I might try making these with my son, for a little useful craft project.
