Our Weekend

Another busy weekend in the books!  As always, I’m amazed at how fast it went.

Friday night we went out for ice cream, and had a wild night of grocery shopping. We always go grocery shopping as a family, and I kind of look forward to it. I don’t know, I’m weird. It’s like our little routine. I especially love our once a month Costco trips. Must be the samples.

Saturday morning, Dan had some errands to run, so I took the kids to a new park.  I always get a little anxiety at parks because there are so many people, and Noah is getting so brave these days. He’s going on all the huge slides, and I know I need to just let go! Bethany, has never had any fear, so I had to try to keep up with both of the little dare devils.

I thought it would be fun to let Noah try out the tire swing. He loved it! Until he got off and told me he was going to throw up. I forgot he had been downing Lucky Charms all morning. I gave him some water and assumed he was being over dramatic. Always believe your child when they say they’re going to throw up.  A few minutes later…in the car…yup. So that was fun.  Now that i’m telling this story, I remember ALWAYS getting nauseous on the tire swing in elementary school.  Do people enjoy these things?  I immediately feared the stomach flu, but he was fine and we were ready to resume the weekend festivities.

Saturday night we went to a Kentucky Derby party and wore big hats. Congrats “Always Dreaming”!  Sunday was busy with church, and then we went to a TCU (Texas Christian) Baseball game. I would say going to sporting events are probably one of our favorite family past times. It was ridiculously hot, so we didn’t stay for the whole thing, and everyone passed out in the car on the way home. Success! Tired babies!

Hubby and I started watching the controversial “13 Reasons Why” on Netflix.  We are only a few episodes in, so I’m not sure what to think of it yet.  We needed something new to watch, now that “The Walking Dead” is over, and “Game of Thrones” hasn’t started.  Any other good recommendations?! We love our little Netflix time after the kiddos go to bed.
I also got some good mail! Don’t forget to use my code drshannon15 for 15% off these adorable Mama Bear tees, from Loved by Hannah & Eli. Perfect for Mother’s Day, which is THIS WEEKEND! Ahh!

We are ready to start another week.  It’s a short one, as we will be heading to D.C. for a wedding and some sightseeing. It will be a fun getaway for the Hubs and me, but I sure will miss those babies!

Leave some good Netflix recommendations in the comments below, and don’t forget to subscribe and follow!

  • What is this “13 reasons why” and why have I not heard of it? We seem to watch the same shows so I will look into this one!

  • It’s about suicide, so it’s super controversial, but it’s definitely keeping me intrigued! You guys should watch and we can discuss!!

  • I’m watching 13 Reasons Why too and read the book in prep for the show! Also Shameless is terribly crude but amazingly addictive.

  • Also we got super into this MTV version of Scream when Tinsley was just a tender 2 week old. Don’t judge ?

  • Haha! Yes! I saw the previews for that, due to my frequent MTV watching of teen mom (also don’t judge)! Looked scary though! ?
